Fellows

The College has a core of Foundation Fellows. These Fellows have been drawn from:

  • Fellows of other Colleges.
  • Those who are already actively involved with postgraduate training programmes in Ghana;
  • Current and past examiners of postgraduate examinations;
  • Professionals who have made significant contributions in the field of medicine in Ghana and elsewhere; and
  • Eminent retired professionals.

The College has HONORARY FELLOWS. These are professionals and individuals of high distinction as the College may decide to honour. The HONORARY FELLOWSHIP of the College has been awarded to the following distinguished personalities:

  • H. E. John Agyekum Kufuor – Former President of the Republic of Ghana.
  • Ms. Eveline Hefkins – Former Netherlands Minister for Development and Cooperation, United Nations Secretary-General’s Executive Coordinator for the Millennium Development Goals.
  • Prof. Timothy Robert Bradley Johnson – Professor and Chair, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Michigan.
  • Prof. Adetokunbo O. Lucas – Former Director of the UNDP/World Bank/WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, Chairman of the Carnegie Corporation’s grant programme concerned with strengthening human resources in developing countries, Professor of International Health at the Harvard School of Public Health, and Director of the Special Programme of Research and Training in Tropical Diseases at the World Health Organization in Geneva.
  • Prof. Eldryd Parry – Former Foundation Dean and Professor of Medicine, University of Ilorin, Nigeria;, former Dean and Professor of Medicine, University of Science and Technology, Ghana; Founder, Tropical Health and Education Trust.
  • Dr. Ebrahim Malick Samba – Former WHO Regional Director for Africa.
  • Prof. John C. Sciarra – Chairman and Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Northwestern University medical School, Chicago.
  • Mr. Bernard F. Ribeiro – Past President of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
  • Prof. Sara Ellen Walker, MACP – Former National President of the American College of Physicians, Professor Emeritus of Medicine, Division of Immunology and Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine, University of Missouri, Columbia.
