The College has a 17 member Council which is the governing body of the College. The membership is drawn from the medical and dental professions, the Ministries of Health and Education, the heads of the constituent Divisions of the College and eminent Ghanaians.

Composition of Council

The Council is composed of:

1. a President who shall be the chairperson;
2. the Rector of the College;
3. the heads of the Constituent Divisions who shall be Vice-Presidents;
4. two Fellows from each Division of the College;
5. a representative of:
   1. the Ministry of Health;
   2. the Ministry of Education;
   3. the Medical and Dental Professions.
6. three eminent persons nominated by the College;
7. a resident elected by the residents
